Child protection

Our commitment

The programme works with children aged 9 to 14, extending to 15+. That requires concrete measures, not statements of intent.

No student creates AI accounts

Not in any age band, not at school and not at home. Requests go out from our server with our key, and each student works under an alias they choose. The serious AI tools require users to be 18: this isn't a preference of ours, it's the only lawful configuration.

The exception, stated inside the sentence: in the 15+ band, if a school wants professional tooling, the school provisions the account with a school email address and parental consent. The student never creates it.

Child protection

Everyone in the club with regular contact with minors holds a Spanish criminal record certificate for sexual offences, renewed each school year. A safeguarding lead is appointed in writing, and there is a written procedure for any concern or disclosure.

Conduct rules: never a session behind closed doors with one adult and one child; never private messaging between an adult of the club and a child; and nobody touches the child's keyboard, which is both a teaching rule and a safeguarding rule.

Content and supervision

There is a filter before the model is called and one after, which also inspects the generated code. The adult sees live what each child writes and what the AI answers.

There is a written procedure for when something gets through anyway, because sometimes it will. In our own club we inform the family; in a school we inform the school, and the school informs the family.

Publishing children's work

Always under an alias — never a real name, surname, school or city. With granular family consent, revocable at any time, and unpublished within seven days at most.

The gallery carries no faces.

If you have a concern

Write to hola@thevibecodersclub.com and it reaches the safeguarding lead directly. If you believe a child is at immediate risk, call 112.
